Three Phase Equipment Installation Instructions
This machine must be wired by a qualified technician.
This machine must be plugged in to its own dedicated circuit.
Acceptable voltage of this machine is +/- 10% of stated voltage on the serial plate. For a 208 volt 3 phase machine, acceptable voltage range is between 190 volt and 230 volts.
To test, locate the wall outlet, and use a voltmeter and test the following points:
L1 to Ground
L2 to Ground
L3 to Ground
L1 to L2
L1 to L3
L2 to L3
If the measured voltages are outside of the range, then the power needs to be bucked down or boosted up to be within operating range using a buck-boost transformer. Contact minipack for additional information.
Proper power phasing for the machine is extremely important.
After confirming proper voltage above, connect the ground and line wires to a male plug, matching the outlet and plug it in.
Remove the 4 control panel-to-body rear mounting screws and slide the control panel out about 10 inches (refer to FIGURE 1 below).
Rotate the main switch (1) to ON position. Slide plastic guide cover on contactor QM4 and manually press the contactor (refer to FIGURE 1 below).
The belt rotation should be going to the left (refer to FIGURE 2 below).
If the belt is going to the right, the machine is out of phase.
Switch OFF the machine and remove plug from the outlet.
To correct the phasing, switch around any 2 line wire connections in the plug and repeat step b.
Once proper phasing is obtained, turn off the machine, mount the contactor cover, slide control panel back in place and remount the 4 screws.
If the machine does not have a belt, you can check the phasing in the following ways:
If the machine has shrink fans, please make sure that the left fan turns clockwise. See below. To correct the phasing, switch around any 2 line wire connections.
If the machine has a vacuum pump, make sure the fan motor turns the same direction as the arrow on the pump cover. See below.
To correct the phasing, switch around any 2 line wire connections.
