Method A.
- Run a vacuum cycle until the vacuum percentage (or mbar) level off for 2 seconds.
- Switch off main power to stop the vacuum cycle.
- If there is a leak in the vacuum system, there will be a hissing sound and/or the lid will pop open in under 30 minutes. Machine with no leak will hold the lid down for hours.
Method B.
- Download the app PHYPHOX for iPhone or Android phones and open it.
- Under Raw Sensors, touch Pressure.
- At top left hand touch Simple.
- At right of the word Pressure, touch the white Play button.
- Place the phone display side up and close the lid to start the vacuum cycle.
- When vacuum percentage or mbar on the machine's display level off for 2 seconds, switch off the main power.
- Observe the number on the phone display. If the number on the phone display increases rapidly, leak is present in the vacuum system.
(NOTE. PHYPHOX vacuum pressure scale of hPA is equivalent mbar.)
(NOTE. Vacuum loss rate of 1 hPa/mbar per second or less is acceptable.)
